Jack Oppelt > We left the car at the Pipeline Snow Park (SP) on RD 82, snowshoed past an abandoned fuel tank (FUEL) to the Mt Adams Wilderness Guard Station AKA Goshen Shelter (GOSHEN) and dug in for the night on the Aiken Lava Flow (CAMP). The next morning we traveled north over the flow, stopping for lunch (L) and circling back first to the east then down back to the car. Day 1: 6 miles (+1690 -28 ft) Day 2: 14 miles (+1722 -3393 ft)
Jack Oppelt > Starting from the Skiers Warming Hut at the Willamette Pass Ski Area (HUT), we followed the blue route, and worked our way up the trail to the north, crossing the snow-covered and frozen Upper Marlyn & Gold Lakes. The first day ended at the Maiden Peak Ski Shelter at 6000 ft. (CABIN). On day 2, we followed the red route counterclockwise over the summit of Maiden Peak and back to the shelter. On day 3, we traveled south along the purple route, stopping for lunch at Pulpit Rock and continuing back through the ski area to the warming hut and parking lot.
